COLLEGE OF TENSION CONTROL
Unit 1: Basics of Web Tension Control
A comprehensive guide to the theory and types of control systems available on the market today, touching on the configurations best suited for various applications. Fundamentals of Magnetic Particle and Load Cell technology will be emphasized.
Unit 2: Dancer Control Theory
An often misunderstood type of tension control, this course will cover the do’s and don’ts of dancer control. Topics include a comprehensive look at how to properly design and implement dancer systems.
Unit 3: Taper Tension
Taper tension questions are the primary inquiry in the tension world and this course will clearly define what taper tensioning accomplishes and how to work with it.
Unit 4: New Technology in Tension Control
An open look at the latest innovations available in tension control, including advanced techniques such as out-of-round roll compensation, weightless load cell calibration and gain scheduling.
Unit 5: Shortcut Web Formulas
Shows how to access and use shortcut formulas for many web applications, providing an overview of general formulas and shortcuts, as well as access to formula resources.
Lab Exercises
Lab exercises will focus on tension control products and their operation; calibrating load cells, setting-up controls, running a dancer control demonstration, and working with engineers on proper sizing and installation techniques
